End-to-end Project Capability

For over a century, Balfour Beatty has been at the forefront of delivering power infrastructure across the UK and internationally. Our first contract in the sector, for the Fife Tramway Light & Power Company, dates back to 1909 and today, our end-to-end project capability enables us to provide efficient whole-life solutions, drawing on our Group-wide capabilities to deliver some of the most complex energy schemes in the world.

We provide comprehensive support and solutions throughout the lifecycle of infrastructure assets, from constructible front-end engineering and world-class design to efficient innovative delivery and commissioning through to safe decommissioning.

Our team of approximately 3,000 experts in the UK makes us one of the largest providers of technical engineering solutions for the electricity grid, with a proven track record of delivering within rigorous regulatory requirements.

Across all of our activities, we’re working to become more operationally sustainable, guided by our Sustainability Strategy Building New Futures. This includes setting targets and trialling new technology and innovative ways of working to drive down our carbon emissions including our work towards zero-carbon construction site in Scotland from which we are taking lessons from and sharing across our industry. We have also recently shared our views on how we can ensure we have the skilled workforce ready to deliver the vital infrastructure that that supports secure, affordable, decarbonised energy in the UK by 2050.
