Balfour Beatty’s Returners Programme featured in Red Magazine

Balfour Beatty Design Coordinator, Antje Budge, is featured in Red Magazine discussing her return to the construction and infrastructure industry through Balfour Beatty’s Returners Programme.
As one of seven women featured from various industries, Antje discusses the challenges women may face in returning to work after an extended career break and how Balfour Beatty has successfully helped her to overcome these.
Following a nine year career break to raise her children, Antje discusses how she was keen to return to Engineering but struggled to find a part-time role which would allow her to combine family commitments while enabling her to thrive and continue her career.
Balfour Beatty’s Returners Programme provided the ideal opportunity to re-enter the sector. Antje has now been working with Balfour Beatty for over two years as a Design Coordinator within the UK construction services business, liaising with clients and designers to ensure projects such as the A580 Windle Island and the A58/A580 junction improvements are successfully delivered.
Speaking of her experience, Antje said: “Returning to work after a prolonged period can often seem quite daunting. One of the key benefits of the Balfour Beatty’s Returners Programme is the support you receive through coaching workshops, as well as the provision of an allocated mentor to guide you through the process.”
