Commenting on the Aloft Hotel Building Project of the Year award the judges said;
“This project succeeded by providing a viable refurbishment, alteration, extension and conversion solution, which was developed in a pragmatic approach to ensure success and an overall complimentary design.”
Peter Trebilcock, Balfour Beatty’s Design and BIM Programme Director, commented on the National Graphene Institute BIM award;
“We are delighted that the extensive application of BIM on this complex building project has been recognised.
“We believe this project and award stands as an exemplar of integration, coordination, supply chain engagement, direct links to off-site manufacturing and ‘right first time execution’. This highlights the extensive benefits BIM can bring to a project, including helping to meet customer’s needs and the exacting technical requirements through a rigorous approach to detail.”
The annual awards were held at the Grosvenor Hotel in London and were hosted by former Foreign Secretary, Party Leader and Leader of the House of Commons, Lord William Hague.
