Balfour Beatty Far East joint venture wins HK$1 billion (c. £97m) contract for the development of The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong

Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, today announces that its 50:50 Far East joint venture, Gammon Construction has been awarded a contract for the construction of The Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong near the Ocean Park water park on Hong Kong Island. The contract worth over HK$1 billion (c. £97m) was awarded by Parkland (Hong Kong) Limited.

The hotel near the Ocean Park will be built with two 10-storey blocks on a three-level podium at the Tai Shue Wan bay. The project includes site formation, foundation and building work.

Thomas Ho, Chief Executive Gammon said, “We are delighted with the opportunity to play a key role in another significant milestone for Ocean Park, following the award of the new Water World water park earlier this year. The project team is committed to delivering the project to the highest quality and in a sustainable manner, while maintaining excellent standards of safety.”

The project is expected to be completed in 2021. A workforce of 700 will be engaged at the peak construction period
