Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, today announces that its 50:50 Far East joint venture, Gammon Construction, has been awarded a residential building contract in Hong Kong worth approximately HKD $3 billion (c. £295m).
The residential project will see the development of eight medium rise residential blocks and four houses with a two-level basement overlooking Tai Po’s Tolo Harbour in Northern Hong Kong, on behalf of Great Eagle Group.
As part of the works, Gammon Construction will utilise the latest technology including 3D scanning and Building Information Modelling (BIM) to generate and manage vital project data to enhance construction efficiencies.
Thomas Ho, Chief Executive of Gammon, said, “We are delighted to be chosen as the construction partner of Great Eagle Group for this project. The project team is committed to working together with our business partners to deliver the project to the highest quality with our technological expertise and innovative solutions.”
Works are scheduled for completion by the end of 2019 and at peak construction will employ 1,000 people.
