What you'll be doing
- Empowering people to deliver excellence across the HSE team but also
the wider project
- Building strong working relationships with the Client’s team SLT peers,
Supply chain exec HSE leads and JV partner HSE leads
- Liaise regularly with and report to the client on all HSEQ matters and
ensure that their expectations are being met and exceeded
- Driving accountability in the project delivery teams by defining clear
roles and responsibilities for direct reports as well as regular follow-up
- Directing the recruitment, selection, development, and retention of
appropriate talent for the team
- Proactively support the progress of the construction activities and hold
regular progress meetings with the supply chain
- Drive the safety culture and the right first time culture across the Joint
venture and supply chain
- Encourage a culture of innovation and continual improvement across all
HSE functions and supply chain and a culture of continual improvement
- Work proactively with the procurement team and supply chain to
maintain required standards and promote continual improvement in
performance
- Produce KPIs and reports making recommendations for improvement,
reporting to both your SLT colleagues and the Client on a regular basis
- Represent actively and positively the Project across the HS2
programme
- Promote and improve the HSE performances across the delivery team
- Maintain consistently high and legally compliant standards of Health,
Safety and Wellbeing and Environment within the organisation.
- Maintain certification in your fields (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001,
PAS 2080...)
Who we're looking for
- CMIOSH (Health & Safety)
- Management experience at director level and strategic thinker
- Good knowledge of the engineering, construction, and rail industry
- Ability to relate at both board level and operative levels.
- Extensive experience in Engineering and Construction projects, particularly
construction/building and commissioning phase preferably in the rail industry.
- Collaborative skills
- Ability to think strategically.
- Experience in Quality, Hand-Over and Commissioning.
