What you'll be doing
As a key member of the regional team, you will be responsible for delivering activities outlined in the project communication and community engagement strategy to provide appropriate and timely information to all stakeholders. The scope of this role includes, but is not limited to, the duties described below:
• Ensure accurate audience data and segmentation is available and continually managed in line with GDPR to achieve successful communication delivery and measurement
• Manage an ongoing pipeline of content to successfully deliver a monthly project newsletter
• Coordinate and participate in project led community relations events - including public exhibitions, community meetings and community liaison working groups
• Manage delivery of agreed site visit programme, identifying opportunities to showcase expertise, raise profiles and build trust with the local community, customers and partners
• Work closely with project managers and BB Helpline/client customer service teams to facilitate resolution of all project related enquiries/complaints in a prompt and professional manner
• Coordinate and participate in project led community relations events - including public exhibitions, community meetings and community liaison working groups
• Identify opportunities to showcase expertise, raise profiles and build trust with the local community, customers and key external stakeholders
Who we're looking for
Essential:
• Experience in communications, community relations, stakeholder management or a related field.
• Confident engaging with external customers and stakeholders face-to-face.
• Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
• Able to interpret technical information from a variety of sources and translate into simple and engaging written communications.
• Team player with ability to influence, negotiate and adapt positively to changing stakeholder demands.
• A self-starter with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting deadlines.
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office365 applications
Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education/industry recognised qualification in communications, community relations, stakeholder management or a related field.
• Member of CIPR, IOIC, CIM or other recognised industry body.
• Experience of working on construction/civil engineering infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of the regulatory environment in construction / power transmission sector
