What you'll be doing
As Senior Group Buyer you will be responsible for procurement of professional services for the organisation.
This role requires a good understanding of category management, as well as strong negotiation and supplier management skills. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand and support their needs fully to ensure appropriate procurement exercises and due diligence is undertaken to implement suitable supply chain.
Key Professional Service Categories within the roles remit include:
• Corporate Legal
• Reward
• Consultancy
• Travel and Events
• Recruitment & Labour
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Implement a robust category plan and deliver in line with the business strategy, stakeholder requirements and sustainability objectives.
- Manage end to end sourcing activities via our E Procurement system in line with category strategy and stakeholder requirements.
- Implement robust Supplier Relationship Management processes, with robust metrics and governance to ensure continuous improvement is driven. This includes running performance improvement plans with suppliers were required.
- Ensure that supply chain complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and that their services meet appropriate standards for quality and performance.
Who we're looking for
The following skills and experience are required:
- Experience in procurement and supply chain management for professional services including Labour and/or IT.
- Experience within procurement and category management, in particular running end to end tenders and sourcing activities.
- Experience reviewing and negotiating legal agreements including Terms and Conditions.
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices, trends, and regulations.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders and apply supplier relationship management skills.
