Balfour Beatty is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer with traction power and rail experience to join our fantastic rail team working on the Piccadilly Line Upgrade in London!


In this role, you will:
✅ Support all technical and commercial aspects of mechanical & electrical installations
✅ Ensure safe and efficient site operations
✅ Follow company business processes to deliver high-quality construction projects

What you'll be doing


  • Review of the Estimate/Tender for the project, in conjunction with the project team, to fully determine and understand the conditions, requirements, deliverables, risks and liabilities of the works as defined and awarded by the Client.

  • Organise resources so that the project can be completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

  • Communicate to the team all necessary information including contract conditions, specifications, drawings, work instructions and BB policies and procedures for the execution of the project.

  • Ensure that the project team is trained and motivated and maintain good industrial relations throughout the project's execution.

  • Ensure the safe and efficient execution of installation, testing and commissioning in accordance with the agreed installation methodology to the client’s quality and programme requirements and in accordance with company policies and procedures. Maximum utilization of materials, plan and labour is to be achieved.

Who we're looking for


  • Experience of traction power supply systems for Rail projects.

  • A valid CSCS card

  • Experience in Traction Power and London Underground or Rail sector.

  • Strong background in electrical switchgear with a working knowledge of Rail applications.
