What you'll be doing
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the commercial aspects of the HS2 project, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
- Provide commercial advice and support to the project management team, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
- Manage procurement processes, contract negotiations, and variations.
- Collaborate with construction and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of project elements and timelines.
- Monitor project performance and provide reports to senior management on commercial and financial health.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks that may affect the project’s success.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors.
Who we're looking for
- Proven experience as a Commercial Manager within the construction and MEP sectors, ideally on large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, construction contracts, and cost management techniques.
- Previous experience working on HS2 or other high-profile transportation projects is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
