What you'll be doing

As a Quality Control Engineer, you'll have the following accountabilities:

• Attend factory acceptance tests and conduct inspections at suppliers and ensure that all requirements are fulfilled.


• Produce Manufacturing Assurance Plans to manage risk-based intervention activities within the supply chain.


• Generate and maintain records of Factory Acceptance Tests/Inspections.


• Identify and control non-conforming material and raise non-conformance reports as necessary.


• Assist with investigation of root cause to ensure that suitable corrective actions plans are developed.


• Collate final quality records for the handover of assets to client.


• Support establishment of a continuous improvement culture.


• Ensure that all work practices comply with PT&D legal and statutory requirements relating to health and safety.


• Undertake other duties as required.


• Challenge existing systems and processes ensuring best practice and continual improvement.


• Contribute to the delivery of a continuous improvement culture.

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:

• A full UK Driving Licence


• Ability and willingness to travel and work throughout the UK and overseas.


• Self-motivated and able to work independently.


• Good communication skills


• Observant and high levels of attention to detail.


• Good report writing and numeracy skills.


• Good IT skills (knowledge of MS Office 365)


• Ability to work to deadlines.


• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical testing of products.


• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

• Trained ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and/or Internal Auditor


• Understanding of manufacturing processes and process controls


• Professional Quality Qualifications


• Experience in attending, or carrying out, Factory Acceptance Testing


• Experience in using Digital Progressive Assurance systems
