As a Quality Manager you will be supporting / managing the quality function of the business on the building on numerous Substations, OHL and UGC projects throughout the Aberdeenshire Region and surrounding areas, supporting our colleagues to deliver 'Right First Time - Every time' quality projects to our clients.


Role Purpose:



  • To be a member of the Project Leadership Team and provide functional leadership to Project quality resources.

  • To be the Project based quality expert practitioner to provide specialist
    support and a network of quality skills to support project delivery.

  • To support delivery of efficiency targets and financial savings throughout the Project, in line with the Project plan.

What you'll be doing


To ensure the project plans for delivering products and services Right First Time, which meet requirements every time, support Built to Last philosophy and drive defect free delivery, the “Elimination of Waste” and reduce the “Cost of Non-quality” through:



  • Providing quality leadership to deliver the Quality Strategy

  • Establish a Right First -Time culture on the project, utilising the BB Group material.

  • Prepare, implement, and maintain the project Quality Management Plan(s) and
    associated processes that deliver Right First Time to project specification and
    requirements.

  • Producing project Assurance Plan(s) to support the delivery of project deliverables, handover, and Health & Safety File requirements.

  • Establishing quality related training, coaching & skills processes so that the project teams understand and manage the delivery quality expectations.

  • Driving the quality metrics and monitoring and reporting on project performance relating to Quality and agree (and monitor) management actions to drive performance improvements.

  • Conduct audits, surveillances, and site quality tours, reporting on the results, and managing findings to closure.

  • Interfacing with audit function to support local processes.

  • Supporting the business unit external accreditation process (including ISO9001 and industry licences) to ensure it can operate in its chosen sector.

  • Undertaking investigations and implement effective root cause analysis where applicable.

  • Supporting the construction team establish inspection and test plans, through training, and progressive reviewing and commenting.

  • Establish an approach to manage quality related matters with the Supply Chain, that also includes delivering training on specialist quality subjects.

  • Production of appropriate business Quality reports including KPIs and metrics, analysing results and reporting causes of failure to project management


Who we're looking for

Specific requirements:



  • Quality subject matter expertise and proven track record in quality management

  • ISO 9001 Lead and/or Internal Auditor

  • Either a CQI Member or working towards membership

  • Confident in working with senior management and able to challenge existing ways of working to support business improvement.

  • The ability to coach and develop staff in key quality management skills.

  • Demonstrated root cause analysis and problem resolution capability.

  • A formal qualification in Quality Management e.g. Diploma in Quality Management (UK Chartered Quality Institute, British Standards Institute or equivalent)

  • Working knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma.

  • Previous experience of managing a team

  • Knowledge and experience within the sector

  • Competent user of modern office computer systems e.g., Microsoft Office

  • Can deliver reports orally and written in an objective and persuasive manner.

  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills and acts in an independent and
    professional manner with the ability to influence others including senior management.

  • Is a self-starter who manages their own time and seeks to add value.

  • Has an enquiring and questioning approach to audit work

  • Can work within a multi-discipline team.

  • Is good at building relationships and can influence effectively.

  • Can demonstrate initiative and resilience
