About the role

Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a Learning & Development Co-ordinator to join our Enabling Functions - Learning & Development team based in Longbenton, Newcastle.


Within this role you'll ensure delivery of applicable scope of service against defined service measures and provide Learning & Development Administrative support for L&D function to ensure it runs efficiently and effectively. 

What you'll be doing

As a Learning & Development Co-ordinator you'll: 



  • Stakeholder engagement with internal and external customers.

  • Lead on monthly Business unit stakeholder meetings, discussing current Training plan and budget.

  • Budget reporting and analysis

  • Training plan co-ordination for Talent and Development for programs available (current year and future year)

  • Manage individual training requests for Developmental programs not available through the program offering. (Ad hoc requests)

  • Co-ordinate Early Careers Training programs

  • Enter data into the Learning & Development system (Oracle R12) ensuring the data entered is accurate and up to date.

  • Administers course bookings, books training venues and supports the cancellation process

  • Takes a proactive approach to training administration; planning ahead as far as possible to reduce costs

  • Administers learning and development documentation (such as joining instructions, pre and post course work and regular check in on Hand in documents)

  • Supports the relevant processes with regard to professional qualifications e.g. university fee invoicing, professional body invoicing

  • Accurately maintains relevant documentation and filing systems, electronic and manual

  • Supports the escalation process to assist in resolving issues quickly and effectively

  • Supports the process for procurement, including raising purchase orders, maintaining recharging information and helping to resolve invoice queries

Who we're looking for

You'll have/be: 




  • Excellent administration experience – ideally within a Shared Service Centre

  • Flexible approach to work and is a team player with a track record of successfully prioritising work and managing time effectively

  • Customer service focused with a great attention to detail

  • Records information accurately
