We are open to base location but weekly travel to our Basingstoke or Langley office is expected. 

What you'll be doing

The purpose of the role is to support the Business Unit Finance team with the reporting of business performance and financial decision making.


Responsibilities



  • Support the Finance Team by analysing and reporting monthly performance against financial targets. This includes P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow reporting to the business unit, division and group.

  • Participate in the planning and co-ordination of the Quarterly Forecasts and Annual Budgets. Manage the consolidation of data, analysing key variances (e.g., against prior year/budget/latest forecast), provide effective challenge to the Finance Team and prepare reporting for wider division and group.

  • Partnering with finance colleagues both within business unit & shared service centre to ensure an accurate and timely month end close.

  • Update current reporting processes with Power BI, Power Query & other available technology to improve Business Unit reporting.

  • Produce monthly sub ledger Balance Sheet reconciliations, provide aging & trend analysis particularly with WIP & Cost Accruals.

  • Assist with the monthly Cash Flow actual & forecast reporting, produce variance analysis and identify areas of potential improvement to cash flow.

  • Co-ordination of the Risk & Opportunities process, ensuring timely delivering of reports and that key items are identified and reported effectively.

  • Deliver ad hoc analytics and analysis that provide insight to business leaders and drive financial results.

  • Produce discretionary spend analysis to the Business Unit to enable focus on cost savings & business improvement.

  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the Finance Department with regards to processes and quality of information produced.

Who we're looking for


  • Final stage/Recently qualified CIMA/ACCA.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with data at a detailed level, whilst also being able to appreciate the broader strategy/picture.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and can interact effectively with all levels of the organisation.

  • Pays strong attention to detail and accuracy to all work produced.

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with experience of working with more senior colleagues.

  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint knowledge necessary.

  • Confident use of Power BI, Co-Pilot & Power Query.

  • Project Accounting experience.
