Key to us achieving and outperforming against our targets is our ability to unlock and maximise the potential of our Supply Chain. Essential to us outperforming against our Procurement objectives and truly optimising our supply chain, we are looking for a Category Manager to join the team!


To ensure we support our objectives of collaboration across the business whilst providing our workforce with the agility to achieve a healthy work/ life balance, we are asking our staff to have office presence on an average of three days a week.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Head of Procurement, your role is to support and develop the Portfolio and procurement strategies aligned to the business Outcomes. This strategic role will be based on the development and the outperformance of our strategic partners and non- framework supply chain during the execution of both project and portfolio requirements.


The overall challenge of this role is to outperform against the Procurement “Whitebook” initiative by driving efficiencies through strong negotiation, leadership, and supply chain management. 


Key responsibilities:



  • Develop, Monitor and implement sourcing agreement with Anglian Water.

  • Aggregate demand based on the business needs whilst driving “Best for Task” and innovation through the supply chain.

  • Develop and implement SMART objectives/ KPM’s with our supply chain partners to support Delivery on Time and mitigate any potential risks to the business.

  • Develop extensive knowledge of the markets in which your category operates within and appropriately monitor market risks (financial and capacity.)

  • Implement regular 360 review meetings with all stakeholders to evaluate current performance across the Alliance and assess where value added initiatives can be implemented from within the supply chain.

  • Engage and support the solution team to ensure the right supply chain is available to outperform against the delivery and procurement strategy.

  • Ensure all commercial requirements are submitted and audited to maximse on our overall commercial performance within the Alliance.

  • Ensure SHEA processes and procedure s are implements throughout all deliverables.

Who we're looking for

To be considered for this super Procurement career opportunity, you will have the following:



  •  A CIPS Professional standard and membership (or equivalent) with proven experience within a senior procurement/ sourcing role.

  • The ability to handle a wide- range of demanding stakeholders.

  • Resourceful and persuasive as you embrace collaboration and innovation to meet pressurised deadlines. 

  • Able to demonstrate solid leadership skills and champion integrity and accountability amongst the team. 

  • Ability to work with a transparent and commercial outlook with the customer at the heart of all your activities and be able to operate at a strategic level and bring this to life operationally.
