What you'll be doing
- Coordinate applications for National Security Vetting according to Balfour Beatty Vetting Policy.
- Provide advice and guidance for personnel completing vetting.
- Enforcing UKSV guidance and policies.
- Managing your relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Design and deliver training on travel requirements, vetting responsibilities and personal security.
- Facilitate the timely completion of security vetting requests, reviews, travel, aftercare and all personnel security matters.
- Coordinate the content for a bi-monthly newsletter for all NSV personnel to cover emerging risks and key messaging.
- Assist with the management of the FSC (previously ListX) facilities.
- Manage the Vetting App of all internal and external vetted personnel.
- Understanding of GDPR requirements for handling personal data and ensure information is stored in line with the requirements for both internal and external personnel.
- Reporting and escalation to management as needed.
- Be willing to travel to other offices/sites if required.
- Live the Balfour Beatty Values and Behaviours.
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm Productivity.
- Assist with achieving targets and KPIs in line with Team objectives.
- Support weekly team meetings to review progress of individuals vetting.
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
- Good working knowledge of the BPSS, NSV processes, security classifications and personnel security.
- Strong communication skills with good interpersonal, influencing, written and verbal English.
- Excellent IT skills and good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (MS Word, Excel).
- Is a self-starter with a ‘can do attitude’ who can manage their own time.
- Capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes with clarity.
- Ability to work under pressure to deadlines, with a flexible attitude towards work in order to deal with a variable and demanding workload.
- Ability to be flexible to work extended hours to meet operational requirements.
- Create risk assessments, utilising a variety of sources, some of which may be open source to inform personnel of travel and associated risks.
- Ability to create presentations and training methods to meet personnel requirements.
- A good understanding of GDPR principles and application to data sensitivity.

- Possess or be able to achieve government security clearance (must hold minimum of SC clearance).
