What you'll be doing
The Sizewell C (SZC) project requires a Technical Author to support and develop the engineering solutions, methods, programme and Target Outturn Cost during the preconstruction phase. The role is aimed at supporting the technical, pricing and programme submissions that forms the agreed works to be delivered by the Civil Works Alliance (CWA).
Gather and collate information to produce technical proposals and supporting material in order to meet the Target Outturn Cost (TOC) submission requirements.
• Work to a programme of deliverables to support TOC and award of works packages/task orders.
• Capture and support development of technical content from meetings and one to one reviews and discussions.
• Draft specific responses to questions and queries raised during the TOC process.
• Research and write supporting information for use in the submissions, including relevant case
studies, CVs, project innovations and project best practice.
• Proactively engage in information management systems, capturing and submitting key content,
technical submissions and lessons learned.
• Liaise with the preconstruction, engineering, operations HSES teams as required to ensure they are briefed on the details of the TOC submission and work with them on the completion of technical responses and other relevant material.
• Include matters that cover safety, environmental, sustainable, assurance and economic requirements working with the SME’s and leads in these areas.
• Developing technical solutions that take cognisance of the site constraints, including legal constraints defined in the DCO.
• Liaise with other parts of the programme, client team, designers and stakeholders as required
Who we're looking for
Essential
• An excellent standard of written English, with strong verbal communication skills
• Good appreciation and understanding of civil engineering
• Good communication skills
• Good self-discipline and time management
• Construction experience preferable
• Problem solving skills, creative thinking.
• Teamwork
Desirable
• Experience in Civil Engineering or complex construction projects and programmes
• Some knowledge of industrial health and safety legislation and personal safety
Qualifications & Experience

• Technical / Engineering / Communications or similar relevant degree
