What you'll be doing
- Define the interface between the Sizewell Site Delivery team and the CWA so that there is a clear understanding of who does what for the project. This will include the arrangements for handing over of the constraint areas between the parties
- Understand the requirements for the whole of the project to define and establish what support the Logistics team provides
- Provide expertise in logistics management, drawn from best practice in the industry to optimise construction of the works.
- The role will be ultimately responsible for the provision of:
- Labour
- Plant
- Site Wide Materials and Consumables
- Accommodation
- Security
- Transportation of materials and consumables to the site and around the site
- Site wide Emergency Arrangements
- Off Site storage
- Provide co-ordination with the Sizewell Site Delivery team relating to:
- How people get to work
- The office and operative accommodation within the site
- Security arrangements for the project and working areas
- The traffic management arrangements around the project
- Communicates the capability of the Logistics function within the project team
- Create the budget for the Logistics Function to include staff, premises, services and methodology for charging relevant cost to the appropriate delivery functions.
Who we're looking for
Knowledge & Skills
- Significant experience in a senior logistics or operations management role, ideally within large-scale infrastructure projects in the UK or similar complex construction environments.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and liaising with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, suppliers, local authorities, and project management teams.
- A passion for continuous improvement, with experience in implementing best practices and innovative logistics solutions to drive efficiency and improve project delivery outcomes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing competing priorities and adapting to changing project needs.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Qualifications & Experience
- A relevant degree in logistics, supply chain management, civil engineering, or construction management (or equivalent professional experience).
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in logistics, project management (e.g., PMP, APMP), or construction management (e.g., Chartered status in a related discipline) would be highly advantageous.
