What you'll be doing
Sizewell C (SZC) is a vital part of the UK’s future energy strategy. As the second of the UK’s next generation of Nuclear power stations, SZC is both of high profile and high complexity. Its delivery will be reliant not only on innovative engineering and construction but also on the strongest of leadership qualities amongst its Project
Managers and their leadership for the completion of the construction works at Sizewell C site, as well as the supporting hubs across UK.
Avonmouth hub will become the main offsite hub for the Marine and Tunnel (M+T) portion. Starting mobilisation in 2025, this hub site will integrate the construction works for most of the precast and prefabricated elements to be delivered as permanent works for the M+T portion.
The Avonmouth Project Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of the construction works to be undertaken at Avonmouth hub, Bristol. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and coordination with the various stakeholders in the area, as well as full integration with the wider M+T management team, including London office and SZC site management.
Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive Construction Execution Plan (CEP) that outlines all project phases, methodologies, and resource requirements for the completion of works within the Avonmouth hub. This CEP will be aligned with the M+T Section Delivery Strategy and wider M+T programme.
• Coordinate and manage daily site operations to ensure alignment with the CEP and overall project strategy from the wider Avonmouth management team.
• Securing the required resources to meet their project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of CEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.
• Drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely, on time, to budget, meeting business and technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters.
Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the packages involved on the daily operations of Avonmouth hub. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues to the wider M+T Management team.
• Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders for the construction site, and execute the project or strategies within their contract or package of work.
• Building strong relationships with the wider M+T package managers and management team (London and SZC site) to ensure the delivery of precast elements and offshore heads are coordinated and in time for the wider project programme.
• Establish effective communication with the Preconstruction Lead/Deputy Preconstruction Lead/Portion Director to communicate project updates, changes, cost control, progress or any potential risk or deviation that might impact on the wider development of the works.
• Working with the commercial team and Preconstruction team to review the packages tender information and subcontracts and comment where appropriate
• Inspire and motivate team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Review Avonmouth subcontractor’s applications for payment
• Apply the principles of Continuous Improvement.
• Complying with all Company’s Policies and Procedures.
