What you'll be doing
As a Street Works Inspector, you will work as part of a responsive and resilient team capable of fulfilling a wide range of services. The role will involve monitoring the compliance of those working on the highway, liaising with our street works and permitting team, and responding to inquiries from Herefordshire Council and members of the public, and more.
- Undertake high quality inspections, recording and reporting on statutory undertakers works, and Council contractor works are in compliance with the Permit and conditions stipulated in the permits for those works.
- Inform the Permit Compliance Officers of any breaches of permit conditions and contraventions of regulations so that Fixed Penalty Notices can be raised and provided.
- Provide accurate and concise evidence including photographs for reinstatement defects and S74 violations.
- Making on site assessments of temporary traffic management and working methods for compliance. Ensuring that the activities, the public and the site are safe and taking appropriate action when required, including providing suitable advice and giving directions for required amendments.

- Flexible and adaptable and able to respond positively to changing circumstances.
- Able to work on their own initiative and be able to schedule and prioritise workload.
- High level of resilience, attention to detail, emotional intelligence and able to keep calm under pressure.
