What you'll be doing
In this role you will:
- Apply relevant legislation and collaborate with legal experts.
- Prepare estimates and tender submissions, interpreting specifications and preambles.
- Represent financial and contractual interests during progress meetings.
- Coordinate buying, accounts, production planning, and procurement.
- Monitor project plans to ensure alignment with goals.
- Manage and report on commercial risks, opportunities, and disallowed costs.
- Provide input for buildability and value engineering reviews.
- Oversee tender reviews, cost data analysis, and target cost preparations.
- Lead the commercial team in addressing programme issues.
- Report commercial aspects to senior divisional staff.
- Prepare and present monthly CVRs and associated reports.
- Provide feedback on commercial data to support planning, estimating, and marketing.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders on commercial matters.
- Advise on alternative contracts and procurement arrangements.
- Formulate and manage resource procurement plans.
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
- A BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent).
- Membership or fellowship of RICS, ICES, or CIOB (or working towards).Membership or Fellowship of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towards)
- A strong understanding of governance requirements and LEAN/digital opportunities.
- The ability to see the broader business landscape and prioritize opportunities.
- Knowledge of economic factors affecting the construction industry.
- Experience with dispute resolution methods and techniques.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary environments.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
