What you'll be doing
- Report on project/portfolio performance and benefits realisation
- Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation
- Accountable for the safety and welfare of employees and supply chain
- Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and performance management
- Lead risk/opportunity reviews and recommend/implement/approve/reject changes
- Ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans, such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines
- Establish and maximise a network of key suppliers for present and future opportunities
- Work with the customer to understand their expectations in relation to quality and ensure that these are met within the project
- Accountable for KPI’s in line with project objectives and monitor performance
- Ownership of budget, cost control and cost recovery, setting project/portfolio targets accordingly
- Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently
- Advocate consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful project delivery – data driven decisions.
Who we're looking for
- Effective leadership skills with a desire to track records of achievement
- Strong understanding of the standard forms of contracts
- Proficient in commercial/project management communications
- Business and customer awareness
- Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation
- Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to build effective teams. Providing mentoring and support to members of the team where required
- Ability to create and implement strategy
- Focus on commercial management of contracts and budgets
- Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics
- Be flexible and agile to change as the role develops
- Understand the need to present data/reports etc. in a manner that is simple and easy/effective for our people to interpret and utilise
- Ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst the team
