What you'll be doing

The maintenance and erection, removal of street lighting, signs and related equipment paying careful attention to buried services and overhead cables
The excavation and reinstatement of coated and other surface materials
Driving vehicles and operation of ancillary plant (Hoists or Lorry loaders) and where appropriate vehicle and plant checks requiring routine maintenance and cleaning
Transporting goods, equipment and personnel to and from site
Assist in the loading and un-loading of the vehicles using, where necessary, mechanical aids
Assist with traffic management measures
Participate when required for out of hour’s repair of lighting and sign installations
Heavy physical effort whilst standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying occasionally in awkward positions.

Who we're looking for


Good communication skills.
Ability to carry out Safe and efficient use of materials.
Able to carry out work instructions from Assistant Managers.
Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Have a resilient attitude.


Technical Competences:


Essential:


GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
Good communication skills both verbal and written.
Good I.T. Skills.
A keen desire to attend training as required.
Full UK driving License to drive over 3.5t.


Desirable:


Street Lighting experience.
ECS with HEA Portfolio.
NRSWA Operative.
302.1 or 302.2.
G39/1 210 Working in the vicinity of DNO.
HIAB Slinger/Signaller.
