What you'll be doing
- Undertake activities, as instructed, with capabilities to ensure that your area of
responsibility is maintained. This will include but not exclusive to:
o cyclical maintenance
o graffiti removal
o carriageway repairs,
o soft estate maintenance (e.g. grassland maintenance)
o litter picking,
o sign maintenance,
o cleansing
o safety fence repairs
o boundary fence repairs
o Any other duties allocated by Line Managers.
- Implement Traffic Management in line with CPS policies, method statements, risk assessments and industry standards.
- Good written and verbal communication.
- Undertake routine vehicle checks and maintain accurate and up to date driving records in line with legislation in accordance with CPS procedures and legislation.
- Taking due care of any CPS property including but not limited to tablets, vehicles and radios.
- Raise awareness of issues which may affect the safe operation of the network and report these as observed.
- Responsible for checking your equipment & tools for relevant tasks. Reporting faults or defects.
- Participate in Winter Service rota as required.
- Attend training courses as required & maintain qualifications / competencies.
- Live the CPS Values.
- Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm.
- Support the delivery of CPSUK’s Sustainability activities.
Who we're looking for
Qualifications (Essential)
- UK Driving Licence
- CSCS Operative Card
Qualifications (Desirable / Achievable within 6months)
- Strimmer / Hedge Trimmer
- Banksman / Manual Handling
- NHSS12A/B 1 Day qualification - TTMBC
- ROLO Sector Scheme 18
- Emergency First Aid – 1 day
- Plant/small tools training.
- Gate Person
- PPI.
Working arrangements Maintenance (shift work, need for travel etc)
- Expected to work Mon-Fri, day and night shifts on a rotating basis with 3 weeks of night shifts to 1 week of day shifts
- Day shifts are 07:00 to 16:00, night shifts are 20:30 to 05:30 with a 45-minute break
- Reasonable level of travel around M25 network and between depots
- Travel to meetings, training and works sites outside normal operational area
- Expected to participate in out of hours call out rotas e.g. Winter Maintenance
