About the role

Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering are seeking an ambitious and dynamic Project Manager to join our team. This role can be based at any of our offices across the UK and involves frequent travel throughout the country with an element of hybrid working.


Balfour Beatty’s Ground Engineering business is positioned as the UK’s leading specialist geotechnical contractor, drawing on its knowledge and expertise in delivering innovative piling and ground improvement solutions across all sectors, focussing on providing the solid foundations for buildings of any height, ranging from city skyscrapers to house foundation packages.

What you'll be doing

As a Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of exciting, new and groundbreaking projects that drive our business forward. Build lasting customer relationships, exceed expectations, and ensure customer satisfaction to foster loyalty and success.


Other key responsibilities will be:



  • Overseeing project teams and supply chains to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.

  • Maintaining and upholding safety standards and targets.

  • Achieving sustainability objectives across projects.

  • Managing customer relationships during project execution, handling changes, and aligning expectations.

  • Coordinating with external consultants (e.g., design teams) to deliver value and achieve project objectives.

  • Providing regular progress reports to senior management, identifying risks, and addressing issues using robust reporting methods.

  • Driving operational excellence and efficiency in project delivery.

  • Applying BIM (Building Information Modeling) to enhance safety and optimize project delivery, using tools such as 3D design and 4D virtual construction simulations for better collaboration.

  • Proven experience in project management, with a passion for achieving exceptional results.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills to inspire teams and manage relationships.

  • Financial and commercial acumen with a desire to continuously improve safety and sustainability.


We would like you to have:



  • Relevant professional qualifications such as APMP.

  • A valid CSCS card
