What you'll be doing
- Ensure adherence to the company’s governance framework, driving continuous improvement, including adopting LEAN principles and digital innovations.
- Take ownership of key contract elements, including cost, value, margin, risk, and cash flow, and conduct reviews of forecasts and major subcontractor accounts.
- Lead commercial negotiations with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, providing strategic support to contract staff as required.
- Foster innovation and collaboration with suppliers to secure competitive advantages across contracts.
- Manage and deploy commercial resources effectively, including recruitment, training, and leadership of the commercial team.
- Lead commercial and financial project reviews, providing insight and direction to support business objectives.
- Oversee training and development programs to build future competencies and professional growth within the team.
- Champion Balfour Beatty’s values in all interactions and decisions.
Who we're looking for
- Proven experience managing large, complex infrastructure projects.
- A confident, empathetic leader who empowers, influences, and inspires teams across all organisational levels.
- Strategic thinker with political astuteness and strong business and customer awareness.
- BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
- Membership or Fellowship of RICS, ICES, or CIOB (or working towards).
- CSCS Card (Professionally Qualified Person).
- Experience with NEC contracts is highly desirable.
