Video: Planning construction in the digital world
As we lead the transformation of our industry to meet the challenges of the future, our digital-first mindset is driving continuous improvement to every element of how we work.
Through big data, AI and digital technologies, we’re continuing to transform productivity, make our workplaces safer, deliver right first time and drive progress towards both our own and our customers’ carbon reduction commitments.
Our digital transformation gained momentum back in 2018 when we established our data lake - a secure, central repository of data and information from across Balfour Beatty. Today, we're using it to power our digital toolset, to bring supply chain partners into our digital ecosystem and generate the real-time data we need to manage and deliver works, safely and sustainably.
It supports automation of mundane tasks and processes, reducing human error and freeing up our experts’ time to focus on creative, skilled work and solving problems that technology cannot. With AI rapidly evolving, we’re trialling our own, secure AI assistant, that can work alongside our data lake, quickly putting the right information at our people’s fingertips to help them work more efficiently.
Building a market-leading Balfour Beatty for the next 100 years, we’re seamlessly integrating technology and innovation to support a digitally enabled business with experts who can work from anywhere, as we work towards being a truly inclusive business.
Empowering our experts to be future-ready and to continue to deliver excellence for our customers and the communities we serve, we’re providing training to help develop their digital-first mindsets and recruiting people with new skills that complement our existing capabilities.
